Schism was originally created as Asperity sometime in early 2003. At the time, I really liked how Asperity was set up. But sometime in late 2005, the organization and content began to grate on my nerves. I considered closing it down completely and nearly did in April 2006.
Instead, I decided to rewrite it and hack off all the parts that were annoying me. I realized I wanted my shrine to be about what I cared about. And, honestly, I don't care about where you find that one sword or writing out descriptions of his limit breaks.
So, Schism was born. I decided to rename it because Asperity as a title was pretty lame. A schism is a separation or division of factions, or disunion and discord.
